Muenselling Institute joined the rest of the nation celebrating 42nd birthday of His Majesty on Sunday, 21st of February, 2021.
Keeping in view of the COVID-19 health protocols, maintaining social distance with face mask, the students and staff members gathered in the hall by 9:30 in the meeting to light the Jamchoe.
The programme began with the singing of National Anthem
This was followed by offering Jamchoe for His Majesty’s long life.
The students and teachers and staff members in a procession, maintaining social distance bowing to the portrait of His Majesty offered Khaddar
This was followed by singing Zhabten
In his welcome note, the principal emphasized the great changes their majesties have brought since the 1st King came to the throne in 1907.
“We were not there during the chieftains struggling for powers and authorities, yet there is the history to prove,” he said.
“Ask your great grandparents of the time they led and compare with the luxury you possess today,” he continued.
The teachers, staff members and students prayed offering Tshedrup for his long life.
The programme concluded with tea and snacks.
