Conventional music and songs are taught as an additional co-curricular subject in the institute. Through past experiences, the institute has realized that the visually impaired people are gifted in music and singing more than any other subjects due to the fact that they are bound to and seem to develop more in hearing than seeing.
The institute ensures that the skills the children posses are well developed and implemented. Children are taught both the traditional and modern western instruments.
The institute has produced a few famous singers like Kelzang Dorji, Pema Dorji and Duptho Zangmo. One of the highly interesting fields for dignitaries who visit the Institute is to listen to the songs and music played and sang by the children.
Here are some of the songs sang by visually impaired students and alumni of the institute.
